Give the Gift of Time.
Volunteers Needed
By volunteering your time and talents, you will help women in need.
Volunteering provides you with a sense of purpose, can help you find new, like-minded friends, learn new skills, and connect with the community.
Mentor
The cornerstone of the Second Grace Program is the mentorship between the Grace (our mother client) and the Sage (our trained volunteer). This 2-year relationship is pivotal to the success of the young mother in overcoming current and future difficulties in her life. A trained Sage will be an important part of this successful transformation for the young mother as she walks through this journey. A Sage will be a role model who provides encouragement and support and assists her with life challenges, family drama and everyday life. As a Sage, you will open your heart and believe in her regardless of her past or future actions. You will be the one in her corner.
Transportation of Graces
Love the idea of impacting a young mother’s life on a personal level without the deep commitment? Consider becoming a Transport Chaperone. As a chaperone, you may be called upon to take a Grace to an important appointment when her Sage is not available. These appointments may be to a parenting class, parent visitation, doctor appointment or even court appearance. A Grace mother may be in one of the most stressful periods of her young life. Appointments are often court ordered and can contribute to her anxiety. Your minimal training will leave you with the right words and gestures to encourage and be a calming presence.
Clerical/Office Help
Occasionally, our office may have needs such as folding brochures, stuffing envelopes, or building our information folders for meetings.
Computer Skills
We are currently in need of someone with IT savvy skills to investigate and implement an internal database program to collect information. This information will be important for grant seeking and implementing changes to improve our program.
Marketing & Social Media
Consistency with our vision and mission is important in the material which we post in a public forum. Second Grace would welcome a talented social media manager who would develop and implement a social media campaign to raise awareness of the Second Grace Mission and engage the community.
We are also looking for someone to take photos at different events to curate our mission and history.
Fundraising & Development
Second Grace is always in need of funds to support our program. While our mentors are volunteers, we do have office expenses, salaries, travel expenses, etc. Seeking grants and donations are a critical part of our survival. On top of this, creating a Signature Fundraiser (such as a 5K, Benefit Ball or Rubber Ducky Race) would offer funds and publicity. We welcome the creation of a Development/Fundraising committee which could spearhead a team to begin building a Development Plan to provide financial stability for our future.
Board Member
Second Grace is always on the lookout for committed and knowledgeable persons who bring a range of skills and talent to our Board of Directors. If you love our mission and have a skill set that would grow our reach and innovation in the local world of vulnerable mothers and their children, please contact us.
*Some of these positions may require completion of Second Grace training, references, or clearances.
